Farm Credit donates $15k to charities at Christmas


STAUNTON, VA - Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that provides financing to farmers, agribusinesses and rural home-owners in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland, has pledged a Christmas donation of $15,000 which was divided amongst 25 charities local to their tri-state territory. The annual donation was made on behalf of Farm Credit of the Virginias' customer-owners and business affiliates.


The following charitable organizations will receive a Christmas donation from the cooperative:


  • Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta – Staunton, VA

  • Valley Open Doors Homeless Shelter – Harrisonburg, VA

  • Boys and Girls Club of Harrisonburg & Rockingham County – Harrisonburg, VA

  • Hoofbeats Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. – Lexington, VA

  • Grace A LOT Ministries – Chatham, VA

  • Jane Jones Food Pantry – South Boston, VA

  • Society of St. Andrews – Big Island, VA

  • Bedford Farmer’s Market – Bedford, VA

  • We Care of Franklin County – Rocky Mount, VA

  • Minority Veterans and Farmers of the Piedmont – Brandy Station, VA

  • Virginia Tech Chapter of Cultivating Change Foundation - Blacksburg, VA

  • Mineral County Family Resource Network Toys for Joy – Keyser, WV

  • Savannah’s Closet – Ravenswood, WV

  • Preston County Workshop – Reedsville, WV

  • Harrison County Livestock Association – Lost Creek, WV

  • Toys for Happiness – Moorefield, WV

  • Wythe County Social Services – Wytheville, VA

  • The Barns at Blue Mountain – Abingdon, VA

  • Bonsack Baptist Church – Roanoke, VA

  • Toys for Tots – Rainelle, WV

  • Boulder Crest Foundation – Bluemont, VA

  • Fauquier Education Farm – Warrenton, VA

  • Albemarle County 4-H – Charlottesville, VA

  • Orange County Animal Shelter – Orange, VA

  • Culpeper Toy Chest – Culpeper, VA


Brad Cornelius, Chief Executive Officer of Farm Credit of the Virginias, said, “Our association is proud to support these organizations and their meaningful contributions to the communities we serve.
