Farmland rental rates as high as $320 per acre in Tennessee


NASHVILLE, TN - Farmland rental rates were recently published in Tennessee. A survey conducted by USDA found rental rates to be highly variable.


On the Cumberland Plateau, rental rates for non-irrigated cropland ranged from a low of $39.00 per acre in Fentress County to a high of $124.00 per acre in Franklin County.


In the western portion of Tennessee, rental rates were also highly variable. An acre of non-irrigated cropland in Gibson County rented for an average of $145.00 per acre, while an acre of non-irrigated cropland in Mcnairy County rented for an average of $47.50 per acre.


The highest rental rate was found in Cocke County where irrigated cropland was renting for $320.00 per acre.
