Major increase in corn acreage expected in TN

Nashville, TN - According to a recent report from the Tennessee Field Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Servce, farmers in Tennessee intend to plant 960,000 acres of corn, 120,000 higher than 2022.

Soybean acreage in Tennessee was expected to total 1.60 million acres, down 50,000 acres from the previous year.

Upland cotton acreage to be planted in Tennessee is forecast at 335,000, unchanged from 2022.

Farmers in the Volunteer State intend to harvest 1.76 million acres of all hay, up 48,000 acres from 2022.
