TN corn production up 50% from last year

NASHVILLE, TN - Corn production in Tennessee is forecast at 155 million bushels, unchanged from the September forecast and up 50% from the previous crop. Yield was estimated at 173 bushels per acre, unchanged bushels from last month and up 43 bushels from the 2022 level. Acres for harvest as grain were estimated at 895,000 acres, up 100,000 acres from 2022.
Soybean production for Tennessee is forecast at 78.5 million bushels, unchanged from the September forecast and up 1% from 2022. Yield was estimated at 50.0 bushels per acre, unchanged bushels from last month and up 2.0 bushels from a year ago. Acreage for harvest as beans was estimated at 1.57 million acres, down 50,000 acres from the previous year.
Tennessee cotton production is projected to be 580,000 bales, down 19% from last year. Cotton yields are forecast to average 1,071 pounds per acre, up 18 pounds per acre from the previous year. Producers expect to harvest 260,000 acres, and down 65,000 acres from 2022.
