Tractor sales up 34% in December; up 18% for the year

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. during December were up 34% compared to the same month last year.

For the 12 months in 2020, a total of 285,106 tractors were sold in the U.S. which compares to 241,885 sold thru the end of December, 2019 representing an 18% increase year over year.

For the month of December, sales of two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 37% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 33%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 22%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 4%.

Combine sales were down 2% for the month of December. Sales of combines for the entire year of 2020 totaled 5,056 which was an increase of 5% over the same period in 2019.
